Shanky Appears at Shicky G's Grand Opening!

Although Shanky wasn’t racing on Sept 6th he was talking shop at Shicky G’s bar and grille’s grand opening in Enterprise.  While at Shicky G’s Shanky meet many new people interested in the number “17”.  Among these were not only the up and coming band Rio Grande, The Shicky Girls, but also lots of new fans young and old.   Shanky also gained two new sponsors and we are proud to have them on board!!!!

Make sure to check out the car at the next race to see the two new logos and the special signing of the band Rio Grande on the hood. As an appreciation to all the fan support that Shanky receives throughout the season all of Shanky’s fans will be able to add their names to his car.  Just come down during the meet and greet session at the next races and give us your autograph while Shanky gives you his.

We will also be sharing the photos that were taken during the grand open.  Check out the band, Shicky Girls and all the new fans that posed not only with Shanky, but by and in the car.  Shanky also demonstrated how to start the car and there were a lot of fans that were very excited when they got to flip the switch and race the motor.

Shanky Seeks Top Five in VIPER Points

Shanky Smith is getting set to compete in next Saturday's VIPER Series Pro Late Model 100 at South Alabama Speedway. Currently, the #17 machine sits 6th in the series points standings with just two races to go. The Pro Late Model 100 is part of South Alabama Speedway's Fan Appreciation Night, along with local features. Admission price is just $3.00 for adults.
